A national police operation in Spain led to the arrest of a 46-year-old man who is linked to three separate workplace robberies in the Alicante region. Investigators from the Alicante Central Regional Police, supported by forensic teams, established through DNA and fingerprint analysis that the suspect, already serving time in a Murcia prison for other offenses, is the same individual responsible for the recent spate of robberies.

The investigation began after a female shop owner reported a forceful robbery at her business. She described arriving to find the door breached and the interior in disarray, a scene that prompted a rapid on-site examination by officers. Inside the store, a crowbar lay on the floor, a clue that helped investigators determine that tools used during the break-in were not property of the establishment. Several items were stolen, including two mobile phones, two cordless phones, and two hearing aids, with a value estimated at 864 euros.

The Alicante Provincial Scientific Police Brigade arrived at the venue, collecting biological traces from the crowbar and from various surfaces within the shop. They also gathered footprints that could be linked to the suspect for comparison. The material was sealed and sent to the police laboratories for analysis. The results showed that the DNA and fingerprints matched a man with an extensive criminal history, already known to authorities and previously associated with similar offenses.

A few days prior, two additional complaints were filed in different precincts within Alicante. The victims reported similar robberies at their workplaces, each involving forced access through doors that appeared to have been pried open with a crowbar or other blunt tools. In one location, the thieves took three hair clippers, a drill, and a laptop with a combined value of 814 euros; in another, a safe contained around 250 euros before being disturbed.

The investigative team from the Alicante Scientific Police Provincial Brigade collected further biological traces and fingerprint impressions from both crime scenes. Lab analysis connected these samples to the same individual who carried out the first robbery, reinforcing the theory of a single author behind all three incidents.

After the suspect was fully identified, officers from the Forensic Police Group of the Alicante Central District Police conducted a coordinated series of operations targeting the individual, who was already inside a Murcia prison serving time for other charges. The authorities proceeded to the named facility and arrested the suspect. The 46-year-old Spanish national is currently in custody, awaiting a summons before the competent judicial authority while still incarcerated. [Alicante Police Department, official statements]
