Three men, all Moroccan nationals aged between 26 and 35, were detained by agents from the National Police in La Aparecida, a district of Orihuela. They are accused of breaking into a home with force, attempting to run over the homeowner who tried to stop their escape, and belonging to a criminal organization. The suspects, who had prior records, were questioned at the Orihuela Magistrate Court in its Guardia section after being taken into custody.
Officers assigned to the Civilian Security Brigade of the National Police in Orihuela were alerted through the 091 CIMACC dispatch to respond to a single-family residence where a burglary appeared to be in progress.
When they spoke with the homeowners, they learned that about two hours earlier they had received a tamper alarm notification due to a power cut at the house. After verifying that the anomaly was not a system fault and that no family member had unintentionally entered, they proceeded to check the residence themselves to see what was happening.
On arrival, they observed a vehicle not belonging to the family and soon after saw three men who, drawn by the sound of the complainant’s engine, were calmly leaving the home. When questioned, the trio ignored the homeowner’s questions and boarded the vehicle used to reach the scene, pushing the victim in the process as the men made for the exit.
In the homeowner’s attempt to block the escape, the injured party stepped in front of the car but moved aside quickly when one of the suspects accelerated, this time with greater urgency. The victim sustained minor injuries from the incident.
Inside the residence
Inside the house, the owner together with police observed that the three alleged perpetrators had entered after forcing two doors, one of them the main entry and the other a back door, with one door showing no success. Once inside, the suspects allegedly searched several rooms and took a jewelry chest containing multiple gold pieces. Investigators also noted the three men lingering inside the home, reportedly consuming drugs and energy drinks.
With the information gathered to that point, officers from the Orihuela Police Station’s Investigation Group, aided by the Scientific Police Brigade, carried out the corresponding on-site inspection and evidence collection. The combined effort led to the complete identification of the three accused, who were located and arrested days later.
Further inquiries remain ongoing, with authorities pursuing all leads to determine the extent of the criminal activity and any possible connections to other incidents in the region. The case has been forwarded to the relevant prosecutors for review, and the detentions continue to be supported by the investigative teams as more details emerge. [Source: Policía Nacional]
