The Judicial Police of the Lliria Civil Guard forwarded the police report to the Valencia Minors Prosecutor on Wednesday after a fifteen-year-old suspect was arrested earlier in the week in connection with the case. The incidents involve an extortion attempt and an assault against renowned designer Francis Montesinos at his residence in Llíria on Sunday afternoon when two masked individuals forced entry, assaulted him, and restrained him, demanding money.
The juvenile’s case, which remains the only detention linked to these events to date, has been opened by the court. The charges under review include privacy violations, revealing secrets, unlawful detention, injuries, violent robbery, and breaking and entering, according to legal sources.
There is a possibility that the detainee could appear in a candid clip that allegedly shows what happened, though investigators have not yet confirmed the existence or content of the recording, as access to the footage remains pending.
The attackers allegedly demanded money to prevent the release of the embarrassing video.
The designer did not hand over the video to the Civil Guard
Authorities requested the video from the victim, but the couturier stated that he did not possess it and has offered only general statements about its contents. Consequently, as reported by regional newspaper outlets, the next procedural step involves the Llíria Court, handling the case following Montesinos’ formal complaint of extortion against the Civil Guard less than a month ago. The authorities are pursuing the proper legal channels to obtain such material. If a denial is proven and it is shown that the video belongs to Montesinos, obstruction of justice could be possible.
Secrecy and blackmail
The alleged blackmail faced by the 71-year-old designer, persisting for about a month, centers on threats to release the private video unless a substantial sum is paid.
Francis Montesinos has a history of legal matters related to sexual allegations involving minors. In 2014, the Valencian designer, who received a notable fashion honor earlier in his career, faced charges that included sexual abuse, underage corruption, and related public health concerns.
The case involved accusations of sexual misconduct with an eight-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl, children of the designer’s friends, during parties said to have taken place at his Lliria mansion. The complaint arose after the minors’ parents did not pursue the matter, and there was no verified evidence of compensation in exchange for silence—an aspect investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office at the time.
Montesinos described the allegations as “insidious,” defending his name and stating that the claims were attempts to tarnish his reputation. He asserted his opposition to any form of abuse and maintained his stance against the accusations.
