A cross-sector effort led by the Atalayas Ciudad Empresarial industrial park entity is focused on establishing a third pillar for talent management across participating companies. It organized a new meeting with key local actors to attract and keep training programs that meet industry needs. The objective, in collaboration with Famosa, is to create a point where ideas can be shared and collaboration opportunities explored.
Roles were assigned among the participating entities: Famosa, representing the companies; the Alicante City Council’s Local Development Agency, representing the administration; the University of Alicante’s Employment Center, representing academia; and IES Jose Antonio Cavanilles in Alicante, representing vocational training.
The Director General of Employment for the Alicante City Council, Vicente Seguí, opened the event, highlighting the importance of boosting proximity ecosystems that anchor economic activity and generate stable, high-quality jobs.
Starting Point
Throughout the day, the entities presented their resources and action programs related to employment and the new approaches in vocational training to make them more flexible and aligned with the territory’s labor market. They also developed various proposals that will be analyzed in depth after the meeting.
Juan Carlos Del Río, the manager of EGM Atalayas Ciudad Empresarial, stressed the need to make visible the different actors involved in talent recruitment, and noted that further actions will continue in that direction.
According to several studies, more than 70% of companies have trouble adequately filling the qualified positions they need to carry out their activities.
Esther Benitez, the HR director of Famosa, highlighted the importance of these gatherings because they greatly facilitate the work of companies by establishing personal relationships that help speed up the strategic actions the companies must undertake.
From the organizers, they declared that the meeting was a success and met the objectives, but as all attendees stated, it should be the starting point to develop a systematic collaborative activity.
