A juvenile is being sought by authorities in St. Petersburg after a pepper spray incident targeted at a sixth‑grade pupil. The information came from the regional directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is handling the case.
According to officials, the event took place on December 13 in the Nevsky district. An unknown individual, who was reportedly still a teen at the time, discharged pepper spray into the face of a 12-year-old boy. A passerby notified law enforcement, prompting an urgent response.
Subsequently, the injured boy’s mother, aged 34, contacted the police to report the incident. Allegations suggest a confrontation occurred between the youngsters, after which a young man residing in the same neighborhood, whom the mother did not recognize, used pepper spray on the boy.
Officials noted that the injured child received medical attention and was released to go home after treatment. Investigators indicated that the suspect remains at large and that a decision on whether to initiate a criminal case is pending review.
In a separate incident, a resident of Yekaterinburg was reported to have sprayed pepper spray on a bus after declining to give up a seat to an elderly passenger. This event is cited for contextual reference and is not connected to the St. Petersburg case.
