The Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation reported repelling three Ukrainian drones over the sea near Sevastopol. The statement appeared on the Telegram channel managed by Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, noting that the fleet successfully intercepted the aerial threat as it approached the city’s water area.

The governor conveyed that the fleet’s air defense units were actively engaged, and initial information indicated that two unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down. He added that nearby civilian infrastructure sustained no damage and that there were no fires reported, urging residents of Sevastopol to remain at ease as authorities monitored the situation.

In another update, Razvozhaev reported that two additional drones were neutralized during their approach to the Balaklava thermal power plant, stressing that the attackers seemingly aimed to coincide with a past disruption that occurred seven years earlier when a power line was blown near the Kherson region, leading to blackouts in Crimea and Sevastopol. The governor described the attempt as unsuccessful and reiterated a sense of quiet in Sevastopol following the incident.

Following the initial drone raid report, city officials announced a temporary halt to sea passenger transport. Shortly thereafter, services for boats and ferries resumed, restoring regular movement with no confirmed injuries or casualties associated with the attack.

On a prior date, Razvozhaev stated that Ukrainian drones targeted Sevastopol Bay. The Department of Defense described that event as a terrorist act and reported that Russian forces engaged nine aircraft and seven seaplanes in response. No casualties were recorded during that assault, although a minesweeper and a barrier in Yuzhnaya Bay sustained damage.

On the same day, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced an indefinite pause in Russia’s participation in the grain corridor agreement. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Moscow could not guarantee the safety of civilian dry cargo ships under the current circumstances.

The United States and the European Union urged Moscow to reconsider the decision. The United Nations called for steps to avoid jeopardizing the grain deal, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticizing Russia for actions that could worsen the global food crisis.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the drones that attacked Black Sea Fleet ships originated from the coast near Odessa and operated within areas associated with the newly established grain corridor. The ministry claimed the drones carried navigation modules that enabled precise movement tracking. By early November, Moscow had rejoined the grain agreement after obtaining assurances from Ukraine that the corridor would not be used for military operations against Russia.
