Russian senator Igor Kostyukevich from the Kherson region has asserted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces looted the city of Kherson and harmed residents under Ukrainian control. He conveyed these claims through his speech channel on Telegram.
According to Kostyukevich, not only has a humanitarian crisis taken hold in Kherson, but the housing sector is being looted as well. He reported that residents living on the right bank are describing an influx of what he called a growing number of “mummified military men” who wear dry uniforms and participate in taking the belongings of civilians who remained in the city.
Kostyukevich also claimed that Ukrainian forces decided to sever access to Kherson from areas under Ukrainian control because the situation in the city had become uncontrollable.
In Kherson, the consequences of what he described as Ukrainian control allegedly led to a humanitarian disaster, prompting many residents to leave the city in large numbers.
The regional senator stated that the population in Kherson had diminished drastically, with only elderly and disabled individuals remaining. He also alleged shortages of water, food, medical supplies, and other essential assistance for those who stayed behind.
Earlier reports noted a series of explosions in Kherson, a city currently under Kiev’s control according to those accounts.
