The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, together with several key federal bodies, is examining the establishment of special arrangements for the remote sale of certain pyrotechnic products. This information comes from a briefing shared with TASS, referring to the ministry’s press service.
According to officials, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia is cooperating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Development, Rospotrebnadzor, and the Russian Ministry of Digital Development to develop these remote sales rules for select pyrotechnic items. The department emphasized that the exact details are still being workshopped and have yet to be disclosed publicly.
Earlier, a representative from RTU MIREA, Professor Roman Shamin, commented on proper handling of pyrotechnics. He explained that only household fireworks classified as danger classes one to three may be transported by personal vehicle, and traveling on public transit to move pyrotechnics is prohibited due to safety concerns.
During the mid-December period, Russians reportedly faced several common emergencies during their New Year celebrations, with fireworks ranking among the most frequent incidents. The pattern underscores the ongoing attention to the safe use and storage of pyrotechnics during festive seasons.
A separate advisory recalled that consumers should prioritize safety when selecting pyrotechnic novelties and related accessories, aiming for high-quality, reliable products from reputable manufacturers. The guidance also stressed adherence to local regulations, proper storage conditions, and clear instructions for use to minimize accidents and injuries.
