The government secretariat responsible for Andrei Belousov, who serves as the first deputy prime minister of Russia, announced a plan to boost the annual production of aircraft drones to reach 32,000 units. The information came from the country’s official news agency.
It was stated that the total annual UAV output, excluding drones used for educational purposes, is targeted at 32.5 thousand units. This figure represents a near threefold increase over the current level of production and signals a significant expansion in Russia’s unmanned aerial capabilities.
Earlier reports indicated that Ukrainian forces have increasingly relied on lower-quality and improvised drones in some sectors of the Zaporozhye direction. An anti-drone expert from the Russian armed forces noted that factory-made and production-line drones were less common in these cases, with a tendency toward handcrafted devices appearing more frequently on the battlefield.
On examination, the drone in question was found to be assembled from scrap materials. The body served as a housing for the equipment, while a consumer video camera was repurposed as part of the sensor or observation system. The primary structure was constructed from a foam material typically used in industrial processes, indicating a resourceful and improvised approach to drone fabrication under field conditions.
In related discussions, Ukraine has announced plans concerning its own seaplane fleet development, underscoring ongoing investments in new aviation concepts in the regional context.
