Sergei Chemezov, the general director of the Rostec state corporation, spoke in an interview with RIA News about a newly developed drone called the Supercam. He indicated that Rostec is already advancing the next generation of unmanned aerial systems within the Supercam family, and that work on another model is underway to showcase additional capabilities and technical refinements.

According to Chemezov, the Supercam line includes both reconnaissance configurations and one or more kamikaze variants. He noted that the ongoing tests are focused on displaying the performance characteristics of the kamikaze version, illustrating Rostec’s intent to expand multi-role options in its drone portfolio.

The head of Rostec also highlighted a distinctive feature of the new UAVs: a high resilience to electronic warfare. In practical terms, this means the drones are harder to jam or disrupt, enabling more reliable operation in contested environments.

In related developments, Vasily Samovar, who oversees aviation and air defense for a Ukrainian armored brigade, stated that Russian forces in the current conflict zone are utilizing a large number of advanced unmanned systems. He emphasized that these drones are proving increasingly difficult to counter as their capabilities grow.

Earlier, reports indicated that the Russian Ministry of Defense approved the first batch of a new attack drone known as Cube, produced by the Kalashnikov Concern. This development signals ongoing modernization of aerial strike capabilities in tandem with reconnaissance platforms.

Previous assessments in Ukraine compared domestic drones with Russian counterparts, reflecting ongoing attention to the performance, availability, and strategic implications of unmanned aerial technology in the region. These conversations underscore a broader trend toward integrating drones into both defensive and offensive operations, alongside continuous improvements in EW resistance and multi-mission versatility.
