Russian power engineers are making every effort to restore electricity in the Rostov and Volgograd regions as well as in the LPR, where more than 330 thousand customers remain without power. This figure was reported by RIA News, citing an official from the regional department.

Officials note that the outages were triggered by severe weather, including freezing rain and sleet. The hazardous conditions have left roads slick and trees down, complicating the work of repair crews and delaying the delivery of equipment to affected areas. Crews are coordinating with local authorities to prioritize the most heavily affected sectors and to ensure safety during restoration operations.

In a statement issued by emergency services, utility workers are continuing restoration efforts in areas hardest hit by the adverse weather, aiming to reconnect residents and critical facilities as rapidly as possible.

According to the latest figures from emergency services, more than 226 thousand customers in the Rostov region, about 67.6 thousand in the LPR, and nearly 38 thousand in the Volgograd region remain without power. The distribution of outages reflects the impact of the winter storm across the broader southern and eastern territories, with some communities experiencing extended periods of interruption.

On February 11, Rostov region authorities reported train delays caused by the severe weather, adding another layer of disruption to local transportation networks. The previous day also saw significant power outages that affected a sizable number of households and institutions, underscoring the challenging conditions faced by both residents and service crews.

Prior reports indicated that the LPR region experienced prolonged outages affecting more than 67 thousand residents, a situation attributed directly to the extreme weather. Utility operators continue to assess weather conditions on a continuous basis to optimize restoration schedules and to implement rapid response measures as soon as conditions permit.
