About 450 people and 78 tractors took part this Sunday in a protest march organized by Unión de Uniones. The march traced the Paseo de la Castellana toward the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, with the aim of pressing for solutions for rural areas, according to the Government Delegation in Madrid.
Organizers reported that between 150 and 200 vehicles accompanied roughly a thousand pedestrians in this new tractor convoy. The march began later than the schedule set by the Ministry for Ecological Transition, and it featured farmers and ranchers marching on foot, mostly from Madrid, and from the regions of Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha.
The protesters echoed the campaign with the slogan “Nos siguen sobrando los motivos,” carrying Spanish flags, regional banners, and using bells and horns. They also displayed placards and broadcast messages through loudspeakers reading phrases such as “Sobran papeles, faltan soluciones” and “Por un mundo rural vivo sin limosnas.”
