The Local Police of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is seeking three men who were involved in a hit-and-run that struck two teenagers at a pedestrian crossing on San José promenade and then fled the scene.

The incident occurred on July 16 at around 6:00 p.m. Witnesses described three young men, whose faces were largely hidden, riding on two cross-type motorcycles. One rider traveled as a passenger without a helmet. They moved along the promenade and adjacent streets with dangerous conduct, speeding and performing wheelies for nearly two kilometers. They traveled back and forth, paying little heed to their own safety or that of other drivers and pedestrians.

The chase ended at the area near number 122 of the street. At the pedestrian crossing, two teenagers, both 15 years old, were struck as they attempted to cross. The riders could not brake in time or dodge the collision. The two adolescents sustained injuries: one suffered multiple contusions while the other sustained a scalp laceration.

The perpetrators of the crash fled the scene, according to initial descriptions provided by witnesses and the clothing they wore, which suggested a youthful age. The Local Police are now asking the public to help identify and locate those responsible. Anyone with information about the drivers or the motorcycles is urged to contact the emergency number 092 or the Accident Unit at the provided phone line.

The motorcycles involved were identified as models KTM and Honda, both cross-type bikes. They were described as white, red, and black in color and were seen by bystanders and captured on surveillance footage from nearby businesses in the area.
