The latest summary published in the official gazette of the Russian Ministry of Defense indicates Ukrainian forces sustained substantial losses in the last 24 hours within the conflict zone. According to this report shared via a Telegram channel, Ukrainian personnel losses approached 790, reflecting the intensity of recent fighting and the escalating toll on the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
Geographic analysis within the ministry’s briefing shows the Donetsk direction recorded the highest toll, with more than 410 Ukrainian servicemen reported as casualties among units engaged on that sector of the front. This emphasis on the Donetsk line underscores the ongoing pressure and the strategic significance attributed to that front in the current phase of the operation.
In the South Donetsk direction, losses were listed at 155 Ukrainian soldiers. The ministry specifically noted that personnel from the 128th Territorial Defense Brigade and the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade were among those affected, highlighting the involvement of recently mobilized or restructured formations in this region as the campaign evolves.
Additionally, casualties in the Avdiivka direction were cited at nearly 145 soldiers, while in the Kherson direction the figure stood at about 50. The Kupyansk direction reported losses of close to 30 personnel. Taken together, the numbers illustrate a broad geographic dispersion of combat costs across multiple fronts within the cited 24-hour period.
Beyond personnel losses, the Russian defense ministry reported activity related to air defense measures in the same 24-hour window. It was stated that Russian air defenses shot down 95 Ukrainian drones and one JDAM guided aerial bomb in the area described as the special military operation zone. The report also noted the destruction of eight HIMARS projectiles and one S-200 surface-to-air missile under those same conditions, reflecting a focus on reducing perceived aerial threats and maintaining control of the airspace.
Separately, a parliamentary acknowledgment within Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada addressed staffing levels within the Armed Forces brigades, indicating ongoing discussions about organizational capacity and force readiness as part of the broader defense planning process.
