A criminal investigation officer in Yekaterinburg has been detained on suspicion of crimes involving the sexual integrity of a minor. The case concerns a 13-year-old girl, and local outlets including Ura.Ru have reported on the allegations.
The suspect is a 33-year-old officer from one of Yekaterinburg’s criminal investigation departments. He is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a minor, with authorities noting that the girl reportedly had a pattern of running away from home, and that the officer allegedly sought her out and coerced her into a sexual relationship.
Officials say the detainee is married and has a young child. A criminal case has been opened, and the Sverdlovsk Region’s Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the officer has been suspended from duty while the investigation proceeds. A representative, Colonel Valery Gorelykh, stated that if guilt is established, the offender will be held accountable under the country’s laws, with penalties that apply regardless of any mutual agreement or status.
In a separate note from the region’s history, it is mentioned that a former schoolteacher previously seduced a 13-year-old boy on twelve occasions, highlighting ongoing concerns about child sexual exploitation and the vulnerability of minors.
