Every year the channels dress up their broadcasts for New Year’s Eve, inviting viewers who prefer staying in to share in the festive countdown as the bells ring. For 2025, the plan remains much the same, with anticipated headlines about Cristina Pedroche and the buzz around her attire and a rumored pregnancy reported by certain outlets. Madrid’s Puerta del Sol is set to be the focal point on New Year’s Eve, complemented by Neox’s traditional bells and a lineup that promises a lively start to the year.
TVE-1: Obregón and the Morancos
Anne Igartiburu has spent many years ringing in the New Year on TVE-1, but this season brings a change. The network has introduced a debuting duo, Los Morancos, to lead the first moments as the clock nears midnight. This marks the fifth year the audience will share the moment with the twosome, having previously navigated a last-minute substitute due to the pandemic.
Shortly after, Nia and Roberto Herrera will take over coverage from the Canary Islands, broadcasting from Gáldar in Gran Canaria. Nia, known for her win on OT 2020, teams up with the veteran host Roberto Herrera, who is marking his twenty-first year on air.
Before the bells, humor comes to the fore with a special from Jose Mota that nods to contemporary moments and the year’s notable personalities. The program will also feature a playful spoof of a prominent European leader and a sendup of a classic movie, drawing in well-known figures such as Ibai Llanos for a lighthearted finale.
After midnight, the celebration moves to music with a diverse lineup featuring artists from Spain and beyond. Attendees will include Chanel, Sam Ryder, Manuel Carrasco, Pablo López, Abraham Mateo, Ana Mena, and many others who help welcome 2023 with energy and style.
To Cachitos on New Year’s Eve
La 2’s New Year’s Eve has long carried the name Small Pieces of Iron and Chrome. The night will reprise performances drawn from the TVE archive, presenting Cachitos Karaoke for home audiences starting at 10 p.m. At 11 p.m., Virginia Díaz launches No nostalgia like before, with acts by Javier Gurruchaga, Christina Rosenvinge, Pablo Carbonell, Pepe Begines, and Varry Brava inspired by the 80s. After the bells, a three-hour chase through the Spanish music archive delivers plenty of humor and memorable moments that often trend on the first day of the year.
Antena 3 TV: Cristina Pedroche and Chicote
Following record-breaking viewership and a standout Christmas special, Cristina Pedroche and Alberto Chicote return to greet 2023 live from Puerta del Sol. They will present the countdown with their signature style and outfits.
Earlier, Eva González and Roberto Leal lead the farewell show for 2022, recapping the year’s events across Atresmedia and then shifting to zapping blocks. The event was shot at the Palacio de Dueñas in Seville.
The channel will also premiere the film El hombre de acero before the bells and cap the night with the karaoke movie Sing to 2023.
New year’s Eve programming will feature Wheel of Fortune themed segments for family moments, and music remains central on the program aired on the third Tuesday. In addition, a special episode of Family Secrets, the Turkish series, will draw in viewers on New Year’s Sunday night.
Sixth: Dani Mateo and Cristina Pardo
Cristina Pardo and Daniel Mateo head LaSexta’s Campanadas for the sixth straight year with Pardo hosting Más Vale Tarde and Mateo returning to anchor after a debut last year. The day before, a special Zapeando episode will bid farewell to the year with the best moments and a Top 10 of the year’s funniest clips. Viewers can expect coverage of how Cristina Pedroche will choose her dress, with Mateo inviting the audience to vote. Gifts will be shared, a piñata will be broken, and the best television moments of 2022 will be reviewed with humor.
The night also includes a look back at Got Talent Spain participants such as Celia Muñoz and other performers, with magic acts and dance numbers to keep the energy high as the new year approaches.
Neox: preview of the bells
The countdown continues on Friday the 30th with Neox’s pre-sounds, Happy New Year Neox, hosted by Eva Soriano and Miki Nadal. On Sunday the 1st, a prime-time screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will be available, continuing the saga throughout January.
Telecinco: Risto Mejide and Mariló Montero
Risto Mejide and Mariló Montero will lead the Telecinco and Cuatro campanadas, joined by familiar daytime program collaborators to round out the night.
As with Christmas Eve, a late-night party special presented by Jesús Vázquez and Verónica Dulanto will feature a star-studded lineup, with musical performances and comical acts designed to entertain into the early hours. Additional talent from Got Talent Spain will appear, along with magicians and dancers to spice up the celebration.
The night will also showcase a range of performances, bringing together familiar faces from Spain’s entertainment scene and contemporary acts that pull the energy into the new year.
Four: Private dates on First Dates
First Dates will transform into a lively club scene on the last night of the year in homage to Studio 54, the iconic New York venue. The restaurant staff and the hopeful singles will dress to dazzle, creating a glittering, glamorous atmosphere to welcome the new year with music and flair.
