Atresmedia has a clear plan for the television menu on Neox for the now-legendary night of December 30. The audiovisual group has announced that it will award Josie the front bells for Happy New Year Neox, while Valeria Rosa will co-host the festivities, as stated in a press release.

Collaborators from Zapeando will be responsible for pulling the grapes from Puerta del Sol during the live broadcast, which will begin at 23:45 on Neox. Both the fashion stylist and the comedian have a special relationship with the network’s traditional countdown to the year end, a moment that holds a unique place each season.

The night before, Josie will feel the same anticipation Cristina Pedroche has experienced for eight years as a consultant for the dresses worn at the bells on Antena 3. Valeria Ros also has a strong connection to this penultimate night, as she steps into a prominent stand-up role in a special program titled The Comedy Club, airing on Prime Time Saturday the 30th. The event marks the 20th anniversary of the format on Atresmedia.

Before the countdown begins, Dani Mateo will serve as the master of ceremonies for this special night. The show is framed as a roast that revisits humorous moments from Christmases past, featuring classic monologues drawn from the program’s archive, exploring topics such as business dinners, carols, lotteries, gifts, messages, and, of course, the bells. The special will also bring back memorable moments from The Comedy Club’s archive, showcasing great comedians who performed around the Christmas theme in previous years.

In this episode, seasoned comedians will step onto the stage to reflect on the club’s history and, in the process, comment on what makes this time of year special. The program will divide the audience into two camps: enthusiasts and skeptics, underscoring the varied feelings that this season inspires.

Thus, all monologues will weave in reflections on the past. Neox will reenact a beloved performance from The Comedy Club’s history and integrate this piece into new monologues, using it as a premise to challenge theories and deliver fresh, laughter-filled ideas.

Christmas tradition on television for 12 years

On December 30, 2011, Feliz Año Neox debuted as Atresmedia’s playful attempt to bid farewell to the year a little earlier, with humor and originality. Since then, the program has grown into a cherished television tradition, with Marisa Naranjo among the first to celebrate this event with Neox and its audience.

Throughout the years, guests such as Remedios Cervantes and Cecilia Giménez, known for the Ecce Homo restoration in its early seasons, were central figures in the 2012 edition, a distinction later carried by 2013’s hosts. The lineup has shifted over time, with The Man in Black being replaced by Berta Collado and Pablo Ibáñez in subsequent editions.

In more recent seasons, the task of obtaining the preliminary grapes has been handled by different duos: Los Notas’ David Fernández and Edu Soto in 2019, Paca La Piraña and Marc Giró in 2020, Patricia Conde and Miki Nadal in 2021, and again Eva Soriano in 2022, with Miki Nadal returning in later editions.

Following the positive reception of Feliz Año Neox, the network has continued to invest in its own production. This Christmas broadcast underscores Atresmedia’s ongoing commitment to original, in-house content that strengthens the identity of its brands, offering audiences a distinctive and consistent holiday viewing experience.
