The National Police report details a case from Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, involving a man accused of sexually assaulting three young nephews over several years. The alleged offenses occurred mainly during holiday periods from 2016 through December 2022 and involved three victims aged 11, 13, and 16 at the time of the incidents.
According to the police statement issued on Monday, the suspect would encourage the victims to drink with the aim of weakening their resistance. On subsequent nights, when the children fell asleep, the man allegedly took advantage of the situation to commit sexual assaults. When the minors woke the following morning, they were found naked and experiencing pain in the vaginal area, prompting suspicions that they had been sexually assaulted by their uncle.
The investigation began in January, conducted by the Madrid Judicial Police Provincial Brigade UFAM, after a complaint filed earlier in the year by the victims’ mother. Through the inquiry, authorities identified the man as the alleged perpetrator and confirmed that he resided in an apartment in Vilanova i la Geltrú.
With the coordination of the Barcelona Provincial Judicial Police Brigade and the Vilanova i la Geltrú Local Police Station Judicial Police Group, officers conducted a search of the suspect’s residence and arrested him as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigators established that the reported assaults occurred during holiday periods between 2016 and the present, with the most recent incident dated 17 December. The assaults occurred at the three nephews’ home, often taking advantage of travel to the Barcelona area during family trips.
The case underscores the seriousness of offenses involving relatives and the importance of timely reporting by family members. The police continue to gather evidence and support the victims as the judicial process progresses.
