National Police Arrest Spanish Youth Football Coach Over Alleged Sexual Abuse

National Police arrested in Getafe a 45-year-old Spanish national football coach on charges of sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy. A spokesperson for the Madrid Police Superior Headquarters informed Europa Press, indicating that prosecutors might block the promotion of the sport if the accused does not acknowledge the gross misconduct.

The coach was taken into custody last Friday. Family members of the victim reported at the Fuenlabrada police station that the man abused his position of authority to engage in sexual acts with the boys under his care. According to the complaint, he touched their private parts, kissed them, and used threats to disrupt their sports trajectories if they spoke out or resisted.

The detainee was transferred to the court, which ordered the juvenile’s release on an interim basis the following day. The Madrid National Police UFAM already had prior cases linked to similar allegations reported by Group XXII. A 13-year-old boy had previously accused him in October 2020. He was arrested but later released.

Suspect Adolfo LR is widely recognized in the grassroots football scene in southern Madrid. His career has included roles with clubs such as Leganés, and collaborations with Rayo Vallecano and Fuenlabrada, as detailed by Vozpopuli. (Source: Madrid Police Superior Headquarters via Europa Press)
