Regional Health Service Expands Digital X-Ray Capabilities Across Moscow Region
The regional health authorities announced the installation of three digital X-ray units in the Moscow region city hospitals of Shatura, Yegoryevsk, and Voskresensk. These new devices are part of a broader initiative to modernize radiology services and improve diagnostic accuracy for residents in these communities. The update was reported by the regional press service of the Ministry of Health and underscores a sustained effort to replace aging equipment with modern digital technology that can speed up imaging workflows and reduce patient wait times.
Officials emphasize that this is not an isolated upgrade but a component of a substantial modernization program. The aim is to replace all existing analog radiography systems with fully digital solutions by the end of the year, including fluorography and mammography capabilities where appropriate, to enhance image quality and enable quicker interpretation. This year already saw seven digital devices come online, marking a meaningful step toward a more responsive regional healthcare network.
In Yegoryevsk, five legacy analog devices have been retired and replaced with digital radiography units, reinforcing the city’s commitment to state of the art diagnostic tools. New X-ray installations were also completed at the mixed clinic of Voskresenskaya hospital and in the surgical building of Shatura hospital, expanding access to high-resolution imaging for inpatients and outpatients alike. These changes are designed to support clinicians across departments, from trauma and orthopedics to internal medicine, with faster, clearer images that can guide treatment decisions more reliably.
The national Health Service project, named in honor of regional governor Andrei Vorobyov, made these upgrades possible. The initiative aligns with broader public health priorities aimed at strengthening primary and secondary care through modern equipment, staff training, and streamlined digital workflows. By adopting digital X-ray technology, the region expects improvements in diagnostic turnaround times, better patient experiences, and enhanced data capture for regional health planning.
