Mercadona, a physical supermarket and online sales company, participates today in Operation Kilo de Primavera organized by the Spanish Federation of Food Banks, running from May 30 to June 4. The retailer keeps its outlets open to support fundraising campaigns, inviting shoppers to contribute as part of a broader community effort.
In Alicante, 97 Mercadona stores across the province welcome donations at checkout. Customers can add a monetary amount in multiples of 1 euro at the point of purchase, with every donation converted into food destined for the participating Food Banks. Mercadona supports this social initiative and actively encourages customers to take part, reinforcing a shared commitment to the community.

A sustainable social action policy integrated into Mercadona’s CSR strategy
