It will debut on the opening day of Fitur 2024 next week as the new stage of Marina d’Or. A hotel complex undergoing a name change. The brand that has long accompanied this resort in Orpesa, The Magic World, will step back, and it will be run by the Magic group, formed by the Benidorm hotel company, which jointly acquired the facilities with the Fuertes group, owner of ElPozo.
Yet this sweeping shift does not erase the Marina d’Or flag. The real estate developer linked to the founder’s circle, Jesús Ger, notes that the brand remains active. “We have a patent and we still use it”, he points out, signaling continuity amid change.
two axles
The logic is simple enough: the resort town rested on two pillars — apartment blocks and a full-fledged complex of hotels, spas, and entertainment venues. The company Hoteles Marina d’Or SL was sold several years ago to the North American fund Farallon, which later sold the enterprise to Magic and Fuertes.
The apartment building and sales business were left unfinished. In practice, the Inseryal by Marina d’Or brand sits on the site, still bearing the well-known sailing logo, a reminder of the original identity.
For decades, the path has been anything but smooth.
renovation
As for the Future Magical World, renovations have already begun, backed by a 40 million euro investment. Hotels are being transformed into themed venues under the banners Magic Sports, Magic Games, and Magic Fantasy, with décor that echoes these names and a family-centered approach. The five-star spa and hotel will receive a second phase of modernization.
A well-known brand: ‘Un, dos, tres’ and Anne Igartiburu
Regardless of the campaign value or the scope of the concept, Marina d’Or remains one of the most recognizable brands at a national level. The major momentum came with the opening of the hotel complex and spa, followed by ongoing promotional efforts to engage audiences. Milestones include presenting host Anne Igartiburu as a brand ambassador and featuring flats as top prizes in the final rounds of the televised show
One, two, three.
It all began in 1983 with the company Comervi, which built blocks in Castelló. Then Orpesa came into the picture. Today, the group sells secondary homes under the Inseryal, Ciudad Jardín, and Sol y Mar brands, primarily in the Torre la Sal area of Cabanes.
