A 34-year-old man was taken into custody in the early hours of this morning after a fatal confrontation inside a Madrid residence. Authorities say the suspect allegedly stabbed the 54-year-old victim with several screwdrivers, causing injuries to the face and abdomen during a dispute that unfolded inside the home in Puente de Vallecas.
Police sources quoted by Efe indicate investigators are examining whether a prior emotional connection existed between the two men. If such a link is confirmed, the case could involve elements of emotional involvement in domestic violence.
The incident reportedly occurred around seven in the morning at number 29, Calle Salvador Martínez Lozano, in the Puente de Vallecas district of Madrid. Neighbors described a heated argument that escalated rapidly, with the 54-year-old man suffering multiple puncture wounds to the face and abdomen after the confrontation. Law enforcement officials confirmed the nature of the wounds and the presence of sharp objects at the scene.
According to statements from police sources, one of the screwdrivers used in the attack became lodged in the victim, and he was found unresponsive when National Police officers arrived at the residence. The suspect is said to have opened the door for the arriving officers, adding a chilling detail to the unfolding events.
Inside the residence, authorities noted a chaotic scene. Investigators reported finding several ritual books and signs of narcotic use, which are being explored as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Madrid Emergency Medical Service (Summa 112) personnel confirmed the man’s death at the scene. Forensic and homicide teams from the Madrid National Police were dispatched to conduct a thorough examination of the circumstances, gather evidence, and piece together the sequence of events that led to the fatal incident.
