In Krasnoyarsk, reports emerged that a volleyball coach disciplined primary school students with a stick during a class. The information was shared with TVK, which cited a conversation with one parent about what happened.

According to the parent, the alleged incident occurred at school number 159 in mid-February. The parent initially did not notice marks on the second-grade child, but later the boy disclosed that he had been struck by the coach during a training session.

“The moment was shocking for the family. The child was running and playing with another student before the session started. The coach asked them to line up, but the children did not hear clearly. The coach then separated the group and, in the hallway, reportedly struck both children several times with a stick described as a piece of sports equipment,” the parent recalled.

The family sought to file a police report with the other parents, but they chose not to participate at that time. Subsequently, the mother independently contacted law enforcement, and the child’s account was taken, with the alleged assaults documented. A father recorded a private conversation with the coach in which the coach allegedly justified the beating by saying the child “didn’t understand differently.”

“Your son is behaving very obnoxiously, playing, not listening. When I tell him to line up, he runs away and has to be redirected another way. Afterward, he seemed to enjoy the rest of the training and behaved well,” the coach reportedly told the parent.

At present, an internal review is underway at the school. Despite the ongoing audit, the teacher who is accused of striking students remains employed at the educational institution and continues to coach at the Yenisey volleyball sports school. Police authorities have not issued an official statement about the case as of now.

There is also a separate incident mentioned in relation to a very young child—two years old—where a tray was involved due to a placement error. This separate note is included to provide context about the broader environment in which staff behavior is scrutinized.

School officials and local authorities have reiterated their commitment to student safety and to transparent investigations. Community members are awaiting further updates as the inquiry progresses, hoping for clear findings and appropriate actions to ensure a secure, respectful learning and training atmosphere for all students involved in sports programs.
