A Yak-40 passenger aircraft skidded off the runway and stopped on the shoulder of the Ossora airstrip in the Kamchatka Region. The Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported the incident through its official channels, noting the event in a public update via its communications network.

Official statements from the ministry place the incident at 14:46 local time, which is 5:46 Moscow time. The Yak-40 had departed from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and was landing at Ossora Airport when it slid off the runway. On board were 20 passengers and four crew members.

The landing outcome was reported as safe, with no injuries and no damage to the aircraft as a result of the event.

Earlier, a Sukhoi Superjet 100 traveling from St. Petersburg to Ufa returned to its departure airport after the activation of a fire alarm sensor and the fire extinguishing system. The airline stated that after landing, rescuers checked the aircraft and found no smoke or burning odor.

In another note, an emergency landing was made on a different flight following a serious altercation on board.
