The Yak-40 aircraft involved in an ambulance flight in the Kamchatka Region experienced a skid while touching down at Ossora airport. This update comes from regional aviation authorities in the Far Eastern Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the report, the Yak-40, operating an emergency medical mission from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, left the runway surface during the landing at Ossora airport.

There were four crew members and two healthcare professionals aboard the aircraft. No passengers sustained injuries, and no structural damage to the aircraft was reported.

The operation was part of a medical transfer that delivered a resident of the Ossora village in need of urgent care to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky for treatment.

Separately, information was provided about a Boeing 737-800 that skidded off the runway during landing at Novokuznetsk Airport. After the incident, the flight corridor N 4-324 Novokuznetsk – St. Petersburg was suspended to allow for necessary technical work.

Earlier reports noted that birds pose recurring risks to Russian aviation, contributing to occasional runway incidents and requiring ongoing preventive measures and monitoring.
