Alexander Bastrykin, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has given an order to verify all facts concerning restrictions on energy deliveries in the Moscow region and to conduct a legal assessment of the actions of those responsible. The Investigative Committee has noted ongoing reports from media and social networks about violations of energy consumers’ rights in the area, prompting continued attention from authorities and the public alike.
Earlier in the day, Bastrykin directed the submission of a progress report on the inspections underway in Chekhov regarding limits on electricity supply and inadequate heat provision. Inspections were also carried out in Solnechnogorsk, Balashikha, Lobnya, Podolsk, and Khimki as part of the broader review.
The ministry highlighted that an emergency situation persists in the Lyubertsy, Ramensky, and Naro-Fominsky districts, where residents face weather-related discomfort due to lower-than-standard temperatures inside homes and ongoing power outages. These conditions underscore the need for effective coordination between energy suppliers and local authorities to restore normal service promptly.
