In Uzlovaya a stepfather faces court over harm to a child’s health

In Uzlovaya, a local resident faces a court appearance on charges related to harming a child’s health. The case involves the beating of a stepdaughter for disobedience, as reported by the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Tula Region.

The incident is dated August 2023. A resident of Uzlovaya returned home to find seven year old daughter severely beaten. An ambulance was called by the mother and the child was rushed to the hospital due to the seriousness of her injuries.

Investigators concluded that the stepfather was the assailant. In a state of intoxication he attempted to discipline the child for disobedience and inflicted multiple injuries. Fortunately the child’s health stabilized and there was no longer a immediate danger to life.

A criminal case has been opened against the stepfather on charges related to attempted murder. The materials of the investigation have been submitted to the court for consideration and adjudication.

Earlier reporting noted another case of severe abuse when a six year old stepdaughter in Gatchina was rescued by neighbors after enduring torture from a stepparent who lived nearby.
