A power outage swept through Grayvoron, a town in the Belgorod region near the Ukrainian border, following a bombardment. Regional authorities conveyed the situation via their Telegram channel, with Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov providing an update on the incident.
The governor stated that Grayvoron has repeatedly been targeted by bombardments from Ukrainian armed forces. He stressed that, during the initial phase, there were no reported deaths. A single private residence sustained damage, and there were additional impacts near the district administration area as aftershocks of the attack were felt. The town’s electrical grid experienced partial disruption, though emergency teams rapidly connected to backup power sources to restore essential services.
Gladkov noted that frontline responders would maintain door-to-door checks during daylight hours to assess needs and ensure residents receive timely assistance. The effort aims to verify safety, deliver supplies if needed, and support families affected by the events.
Earlier, Russian air defense forces reportedly intercepted and destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Belgorod region, marking another instance in the ongoing aerial activity along the border. These developments came as part of a broader defensive posture intended to protect inhabited areas and critical infrastructure.
Within a short span, Russian air defense systems also neutralized a Ukrainian drone in the skies above Belgorod. The military ministry indicated the incident occurred around 18:30 Moscow time, underscoring the persistent pressure faced by regional communities near the border.
The repeated drone incursions have prompted questions about the frequency and pattern of such attempts, with authorities emphasizing vigilance and the readiness of security forces to respond promptly to any new threats.
