Jorge Rey, a young resident of Burgos who enjoys studying time, cabañuelas, and meteorology, has shared a forecast for the coming days in the country. According to his view, the spring period that began several weeks ago will pause briefly, bringing days that feel more like summer with temperatures topping 30 degrees in several provinces and staying above 20 degrees in the northern regions.
The budding weather forecaster pointed to how anomalous the past weeks have been in terms of precipitation, with levels unseen in more than three decades and in some places a record of up to 140 liters of rain.
In this context, the State Meteorological Agency has issued multiple warnings for wind, rain, and high seas across about a dozen provinces, including Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, and Castilla y León.
Jorge Rey Announces the Time Change
In the coming days, much of Spain is expected to face a high-pressure pattern with mostly clear skies and high clouds. However, the arrival of a set of fronts linked to the storm Olivia could radically alter the situation, bringing clouds and precipitation, especially in the region of Galicia.
Rain is forecast to intensify in western Galicia, though it could ease as the day progresses. Additionally, the tail end of a frontal system is expected to bring light showers to the northwest of the Canary Islands through the end of the day, while frost will persist at high elevations in the Pyrenees.
Regarding temperatures, a general rise across the country is anticipated. The highest daytime temperatures are forecast in Jaén, Murcia, and Seville, reaching around 30 degrees Celsius, while Granada and other areas could see up to 29 degrees. Badajoz, Córdoba, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife are expected to record maximums near 28 degrees Celsius.
