Four people were injured in a traffic collision involving a Kia Sportage and a Ford Focus in the Novgorod region, according to a post on the public page of the Novgorodsky Personnel Police Department in the social network VKontakte.
The incident occurred late at night on the Novgorod-Luga highway.
The report states that the female driver born in 1978 was behind the wheel of a Kia Sportage, traveling toward Veliky Novgorod and crossing into the lane used by oncoming traffic.
In that moment, the Kia Sportage collided with a Ford Focus, which was driven by a 34-year-old woman and carried a man and two young children born in 2013 and 2020 as passengers. All occupants of the Ford sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Footage from the scene showed the front left portion of the Ford being struck, after which the two vehicles slid toward a ditch. The Kia’s left front wheel detached, and the airbags deployed inside the cabin.
Earlier, a resident of Volgograd set fire to a neighbor’s car in the Park area.
