Fire Incidents in Makhachkala: Firefighting Efforts, Evacuations, and Investigations

Fire crews brought the blaze under control over an area of about 500 square meters at a food warehouse in Makhachkala. The incident was reported via the Telegram channel of the press service for the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Dagestan in Russia.

The warehouse fire on Magomedtagirov Street in Makhachkala was localized at 12:58 Moscow time and fully extinguished three hours later with the help of three additional fire-fighting units. The ministry reported that there were no injuries among the occupants or responders.

Earlier, a fatal fire occurred in a residential building in Makhachkala, which investigators attributed to a gas explosion.

In the evening of September 14, in the Semender district of Makhachkala, a deadly fire broke out in an apartment building as a result of a gas explosion. The building sits on Elizarova Street, and several sections of the structure sustained damage as load-bearing walls collapsed.

Rescue teams evacuated 70 residents from the burning structure, with 10 additional people being saved. City officials noted that more than a hundred residents were relocated to safety. Two emergency medical teams were on site, with 87 responders and 27 pieces of equipment reported as deployed.

Earlier, investigators with SK suggested a possible gas-station explosion as another version for the incident in Makhachkala.
