The Russian Emergencies Ministry’s main directorate in St. Petersburg reported a significant fire on Bukharestskaya Street, with the affected area assessed at about 1,000 square meters. Fire crews from ten vehicles responded, and nearly 40 firefighters were deployed to combat the blaze. According to the ministry’s Telegram updates, the operation proceeded with coordinated effort and no casualties were reported at that moment. The official statement noted that RSChS contributed to the extinguishing effort, bringing 18 units of equipment and 62 personnel, including ten units and 39 personnel from the Ministry of Emergencies, to the scene.
Earlier, the St. Petersburg fire service had already localized a separate fire, which had burned an area of about 800 square meters. This incident occurred at a printing house located on Strelkov Street. The local Directorate teams reached the site promptly, but access to hydrants in the vicinity posed a challenge, slowing the firefighting process.
In the end, firefighters succeeded in preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent structures. Unfortunately, the printing house itself sustained total destruction, and the building was completely burned down. The situation highlighted the difficulties that can arise when hydrant access is restricted and underscores the importance of rapid, well-coordinated responses by city fire services.
There was also a separate note of interest to observers, showing firefighters dealing with a burning vehicle on the set of a local production, illustrating the broader range of emergency response activities that the department handles in a typical night of operations.
