Two years passed since the town’s food market paused due to sanitation measures, and now life is almost back to normal. Events that drew heavy crowds are returning, and so is the FIFTH edition of the Street Food Market, back at Plaza Séneca from 18:00 on Friday, June 3, until 23:00 on Sunday, June 5. This festival is more than a meal—it’s a celebration of community, city life, and global flavors that bring together locals and visitors alike in the heart of Alicante.
The Street Food Market began when a state landmark, the FOOD TRAILER, parked at the old bus station in Alicante and sparked a wandering journey. Over the years, the market has traveled to different corners of the province, weaving street food culture into the fabric of multiple communities and turning performances into a staple of the experience. Today, participants can savor high-quality food at affordable prices while enjoying the open-air ambiance that defines this festival.
From June 3 to 5, fourteen vintage food trucks will assemble across the venue, offering a diverse array of cuisines from around the world. Expect Tex-Mex staples, sizzling burgers, classic hot dogs, and fluffy pancakes alongside contemporary twists. The weekend promises more than meals; it delivers a lively program designed to entertain guests of all ages. The kickoff at 21:30 on Saturday features a tribute titled The Awakening of Silence, honoring the Heroes of Silencio with multimedia performances and powerful storytelling.
On Saturday, June 4, Granada-based musician EL JOSE will bring a dynamic live set that blends styles and keeps energy high for festival-goers. An unforgettable moment arrives as one of the best Beatles tribute bands takes the stage at 12:30 a.m., offering a nostalgic throwback for night owls and music lovers alike. The weekend culminates with Liverpool Band delivering an energetic finale at 9:30 p.m. and a Comedy Night hosted by Alberto Abril and Marco Antonio on Sunday night, ensuring a mix of music and humor.
The festival also features family-friendly programming, including activities for children led by Alberto Celdrán Y the Clown and a series of workshops crafted for the little ones. The aim is to create a welcoming, inclusive space where kids can learn, play, and observe culinary craftsmanship in a hands-on way.
Music remains a central thread across the weekend with additional live sets and DJ appearances, including DJ Adrianola, who keeps the atmosphere lively when the stage is not hosting a live act. Admission to all performances and activities is free, making it easy for families and travelers to join in. Beverage stands offering beer and soft drinks complement the food lineup, providing refreshment options for every palate.
Street Food is described as a gastronomic marketplace of trucks, vans, caravans, stalls, and carts that embrace vintage aesthetics while presenting a wide range of quality dishes. The organizers emphasize a mission to fuse culinary culture with public-space enjoyment, inviting people to experience urban food culture in a convivial, open setting.
