National Police are handling a fatal shooting case in Madrid, with investigators from the Homicide Group VI taking charge of the inquiry. Officials from the Madrid Police Headquarters confirmed that the scene was also visited by members of the Scientific Police Violent Crimes Group, known as DEVI, who gathered evidence and helped document the incident.
The incident occurred shortly before ten o clock on Monday night on Lago de Maracaibo Street in the Puente de Vallecas district. A firearm discharge struck a woman, who appeared to be around 40 years old, in the left chest area. First responders and local officers secured the area and began preliminary assessments while awaiting forensic confirmation of details from investigators.
The woman collapsed due to cardio-respiratory arrest. Medical personnel from Samur-Civil Protection attempted multiple resuscitation maneuvers but were unable to revive her. Sources from Madrid Emergency later confirmed that the woman was declared dead a short time after medical teams arrived on site.
A Samur psychologist provided emotional support to several relatives who were present at the scene as a crowd gathered nearby. The response on site included coordination between police, medical services, and social workers to address the immediate needs of witnesses and family members while the investigation continued.
