The girl had broken off the relationship
The Guardia Civil has detained the ex-boyfriend of the 15-year-old girl killed this Sunday in Orihuela Costa. The alleged perpetrator, a 17-year-old Spaniard, is believed to have stabbed the girl, causing a neck wound between 20:00 and 21:00 hours on Calle del Morral in the La Florida neighborhood.
The girl, also Spanish, was transported in critical condition to the Torrevieja University Hospital, where she died shortly after from neck injuries.
In an initial emergency call, responders were alerted that the incident appeared to involve a possible fire at an illegally occupied residence.

The victim’s brother, around 20:40 hours, found the girl with a neck wound.
Apparently, the girl had broken off the relationship with the attacker a few days earlier. There were no domestic violence complaints, according to sources close to the investigation cited by EFE.
According to a Guardia Civil statement issued on Monday, at 21:10 hours the death of a minor at Torrevieja Hospital was confirmed. The minor presented stab wounds. At 23:30, a minor, reportedly the former partner of the victim, was arrested on suspicion of homicide.
From this, the case was reported to the Alicante Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office and the Orihuela on-call court. The investigations are being led by the EMUME team (Women and Minors) of the Alicante Command.
