Cruising the Persian Gulf has become a winter escape for travelers seeking new horizons. Passengers are gradually moving beyond restrictions imposed by the pandemic. The region is among the most sought after for three major international events this year: Expo 2020, recently concluded in Dubai, the football World Cup in Qatar, and the grand prix Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi. “The season had to be extended, starting in November and ending in March,” notes the communications team of the Italian-Swiss shipping line MSC. The planned route will continue from Dubai to Doha through the end of June, with stops at Sir Bani Yas and Abu Dhabi, capitals of the seven United Arab Emirates, once chosen by the late King Juan Carlos I for his retirement.
