Authorities disrupted a highly active drug trafficking operation and dismantled a network involved in distributing narcotics to the cities of Elda and Petrer. Four individuals were apprehended as part of the coordinated police effort aimed at curbing illegal drug sales in the region.

The investigation began with the Elda-Petrer Police Station Narcotics Group at the start of March, sparked by information provided through multiple channels, including an official email channel dedicated to tips on drug trafficking. The tipster helped identify a pair who were heavily involved in the distribution and sale of narcotics, including marijuana, hashish, and cocaine.

According to the inquiry, the suspects allegedly used a public bar as a point of sale for the drugs in question. The investigation involved patrons of the establishment, but there was no evidence that the bar owner participated in the criminal activity.

So, after careful police work, investigators established ongoing surveillance to track movements of the individuals under investigation. The aim was to verify suspicions that the persons were in possession of drugs intended for sale and distribution. The couple allegedly supplied the prohibited substances to buyers who traveled to the bar on foot and by car in Petrer.

There were indications that another location functioned as a logistics hub for storing drugs and the money obtained from sales, suggesting a broader operation beyond the bar itself.

Following the gathering of essential evidence, narcotics officers conducted searches at the residences of those under investigation and at the bar identified in the inquiry. The operation led to the seizure of 58 grams of cocaine and 75 grams of marijuana, together with materials used for weighing and portioning the drugs for sale. Investigators also recovered approximately 17,000 euros believed to have been earned from drug sales and prepared for redistribution to buyers in the market.

Ultimately, four Spanish nationals—two men and two women aged between 43 and 69—were taken into judicial custody by the Court of Inquiry, acting under the local Guardia de Elda. They face charges related to public health offenses tied to drug trafficking and participation in a criminal organization.

The investigation, which relied on citizen cooperation and a steady police operation, aimed to eliminate a highly active retail drug outlet and disrupt a network generating substantial profits from criminal activity.
