An industrial warehouse containing more than 600 cannabis plants was dismantled in the town of Peter. In the ongoing effort to disrupt drug trafficking, local National Police officers arrested a 24-year-old man identified as the alleged perpetrator of the crime.

Investigators from the Elda-Petrer Police Station’s Narcotics Unit began the case after receiving multiple tips. The information pointed to a hidden operation connected to marijuana sales and distribution, prompting a thorough search that led authorities to a large, secluded warehouse.

From the exterior, the building showed signs of deliberate concealment. The windows were tightly sealed to block light, and an illicit electrical connection indicated tampering with the power grid. Such indicators raised suspicions about clandestine activity taking place inside, possibly related to cannabis cultivation.

Through surveillance and methodical monitoring in the course of the investigation, officers confirmed that the warehouse was owned by the suspect as part of his family network and located in close proximity to his residence. This proximity reinforced the likelihood that marijuana production had found a foothold within the premises.

During the operation, investigators documented two separate cultivation areas within the facility, together housing a total of 610 cannabis plants at an advanced stage of growth. In addition, officers recovered 200 grams of opium poppy and a range of equipment typical of indoor cultivation operations, such as lighting rigs, extraction gear, and irrigation components.
