A nocturnal incident near Moscow involved a downed drone whose debris damaged a private residence in Khimki and also struck the wall of an unoccupied building on Sportivnaya Street. No injuries were reported, according to emergency services communications cited by DEA News.

Witnesses described damage to a private brick house measuring roughly 40 square meters, where the impact of the drone debris caused partial roof collapse and shattered several windows. In addition, the neighboring non residential structure on Sportivnaya Street sustained a broken wall, and it is noted that this building houses retail spaces.

Early information circulated on social channels suggesting fragments of a Ukrainian drone were located in Khimki, further fueling discussions about the event’s scale and origin.

On the night in question, Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported via his Telegram channel that a drone was brought down in the Mozhaisk district of the Moscow region. He added that a second drone reportedly collided with an under-construction Moscow City business center building, underscoring the tension surrounding aerial incursions over the capital region.

Subsequent statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated that three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were involved in the attack attempts. The ministry asserted that two of the aircraft were neutralized in flight by air defense systems over the Mozhaisk and Khimki districts of the Moscow region.

In the wake of these events, authorities noted the deployment of a new drone suppression system within Russia, aimed at improving interception capabilities and reducing risks to populated areas and critical infrastructure. The situation highlighted ongoing concerns about aerial threats and the measures being implemented to safeguard major metropolitan zones.
