Donetsk Conflict Update: JROF HEF Missiles and Civilian Impact

Ukrainian troops reportedly expanded their arsenal with new JROF HEF missiles during air strikes on Donetsk’s Kalininsky district, as cited by the DPR representation at the JCCC. The report notes that strikes originated from positions near the village of Karlivka, targeting populated areas with a 122 mm caliber MLRS system. The same source describes the technical features of the newly deployed munitions, stating they carry a range of 40.2 kilometers and include 9100 ball-shaped projectiles. According to the JCCC, the munitions were manufactured in Slovakia and delivered to Ukraine with assistance from NATO allies, highlighting the broader international dimension of the conflict.

In Belgorod Region, the regional governor reported that the Ukrainian forces fired more than 110 rounds into inhabited areas in a single day. The governor confirmed extensive use of unmanned aerial vehicles along with additional munitions, resulting in injuries to two civilians and damage to four private homes and a local production facility. These assertions illustrate the ongoing spillover effects of the conflict into neighboring regions and the persistent risk to civilian life.

Earlier, the region experienced power interruptions linked to shelling by Ukrainian forces, causing certain boiler houses to halt operations and forcing the Donetsk People’s Republic into a more centralized operational mode. The event underscored the fragile infrastructure and the broad impact of sustained hostilities on essential services.

Previous incidents left five civilians in Donetsk with injuries amid shelling, underscoring the ongoing human cost of the confrontation and the fragile security situation in the area.
