Prices for accommodation in early travel season shifted noticeably, with India, Bahrain and Abkhazia emerging as the most affordable destinations for the new year. A report from Lenta.ru cites the Yandex Travel study to back these findings.

The study shows an average nightly rate in Indian hotels around 5,400 rubles, in Bahrain about 5,500 rubles, and in Abkhazia roughly 5,800 rubles. Rounding out the top five are Kazakhstan at 7,100 rubles and Laos at 7,600 rubles per night.

Within Russia, some regions stand out for low lodging costs. The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug records an average hotel price near 3,000 rubles per night, followed by the Komi Republic at around 3,300 rubles, the Republic of Kalmykia at about 4,000 rubles, the Orenburg region close to 4,100 rubles, and the Republic of Mari El around 4,400 rubles.

Earlier, the Sutochno.ru online booking service highlighted cities in Russia that tend to be inexpensive for holidays, listing Essentuki, Voronezh and Pyatigorsk among the most affordable. Daily rental costs during festive periods there did not exceed roughly 2,300 rubles per day, illustrating a broader trend toward budget-friendly options for travelers seeking value without sacrificing location or experience.

In terms of popular destinations for domestic travelers during November holidays, St. Petersburg led the bookings, followed by Moscow, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Minsk. The average daily rental price for holidays across Russia hovered around 3,733 rubles, with prices showing a year-over-year increase of about 15 percent. These figures reflect shifting traveler preferences toward cost efficiency amid fluctuating travel costs across the region.

Industry observers have noted that Asia continues to offer some of the most economical holiday options for travelers seeking value. The overall pattern points to a growing emphasis on affordability, with travelers weighing price against distance, accessibility and the quality of accommodations available in each destination. This trend aligns with data from the Yandex Travel study as reported by Lenta.ru, underscoring how global and regional pricing dynamics shape vacation planning for the year ahead.
