A person involved in a special operation in the Tyumen region assaulted his wife and then fled to the police who arrived in response to the call. This is the account given by the Unified Press Service of the regional judicial system.

In July, a man born in 1998 who had returned from the Northern Military District earlier in spring grabbed his partner by the hair and pressed a kitchen knife to her neck. The following morning, the police detained him. At the time, he was drinking in a nearby village, refused to comply with the demands of Ministry of Internal Affairs officials, insulted them, and attempted to strike one of the officers on the head.

Authorities had to use physical force to place the man into a police car. Once in custody, his behavior did not improve and he attacked officers again. The officer who was struck in the head sustained a bleeding eyebrow. While being escorted to the police building in handcuffs, the detainee grabbed one officer by the neck, began choking him, and attempted to kick a second officer.

During the hearing, the victim described that the partner had returned home from work with Wagner PMC on May 22, after which he started drinking regularly, assaulted her, threatened violence, and repeatedly grabbed knives. He also tried to intimidate her by insisting that no one would help her even if she filed a complaint against him.

The court sentenced him to six years in prison, with placement in a general regime correctional colony as determined by the Vikulovsky District Court. Before the verdict was delivered, the man attempted to persuade those present that he had not threatened his friend with a knife, had not attacked, beaten, or strangled the police officers, and claimed that he did not intend to harm anyone’s health.

In related testimony, the victim stated that the accused had been violent toward her mother as part of protecting a roommate, a dynamic that underscored the broader pattern of coercive control and repeated intimidation within the household.
