DKV appoints Fernando Campos as CEO in Spain

Fernando Campos has been appointed chief executive officer of DKV Seguros in Spain by the company’s Board of Directors, with the appointment taking effect on April 1. Until then, the leadership rests with the Executive Committee that assumed control in March 2023 following the departure of the prior CEO.

Javier Vega de Seoane, chair of the DKV board, described Campos as a trusted leader. He noted Campos’ extensive experience in multinational insurance groups, his deep expertise in health insurance, and his alignment with DKV’s values and culture as decisive factors in the selection.

Vega de Seoane also acknowledged and thanked the Executive Committee for achieving the expected results and maintaining strategic direction within the current plan.

Fernando Campos, born in Madrid in 1976, is a senior executive with international experience in global insurance firms. He holds a law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and an International MBA from IE Business School. He has completed a general management program at IESE and participated in leadership development programs including Pinnacle at Aon in collaboration with Cornell University, as well as a corporate governance program at ESADE.

Since 2020, Campos has served as CEO Health Solutions EMEA at AON, overseeing operations across 29 countries and serving on the company’s global management committee for the health business. Previously, he ran Health Solutions in Spain and Portugal for the same firm.

Between 2007 and 2017, he held various roles at Cigna Spain Healthcare, including director of large accounts and commercial director, eventually becoming CEO and country manager of the company. Earlier, he worked as director of large accounts at Sanitas (BUPA) from 2005 to 2007.

From October 2002 to December 2003, Campos was a key accounts director at Principal Financial Group in Santiago de Chile, responsible for the distribution channel of life insurance products for group plans.

He began his career in 2000 at PwC, joining audit teams for insurance companies in Madrid and Santiago de Chile, where he spent more than two years. In Spain, DKV maintains a widespread network of offices offering health, dental, life, and travel insurance and related services, with countable clinics serving millions of clients across the country.
