This report from the Valencian Community analyzes job offers in the digital sector, drawing on data from the latest quarter. It uses big data and artificial intelligence to track advertisements published on major portals like Infojobs, Tecnoempleo, and Ticjob, giving a clear picture of hiring trends for digital professionals.

According to the findings, Madrid continues to be the region with the highest demand for digital profiles, followed by Catalonia and Andalusia. In the last three months, the national landscape recorded 22,197 postings in Madrid, with Catalonia contributing 14,118 and Andalusia 4,285. Across the country, the Valencian Community ranking sits third in terms of offers, with 4,117 postings, followed by the Basque Country with 2,984 and Galicia with 1,296. In the Valencian Community itself, Valencia province leads the way with 2,736 new opportunities, while Alicante accounts for 1,106 postings and Castellón reports 275 opportunities.

Regarding the types of profiles in highest demand, software developers lead the list with 534 active postings. Next come digital project managers with 424 openings, and ICT technical specialists with 379 postings.

In the Valencian context, technology teams also sought up to 362 system administrators and 261 digital marketing specialists. The Telefónica Foundation highlights that trends such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and Big Data underpin growth, development, and innovation across different manufacturing sectors. Yet this tech surge also reveals a shortage of highly specialized professionals. Across the European Union, ICT occupations account for about 4.5% of employment; in Spain, the rate stands at 4.1%, below the EU average per the 2023 Digital Society report prepared by the same organization.

The most recent June data from Employment Map shows a total of 87,391 digital-profession job offers across Spain, with the Valencian Community contributing 4.7% of those opportunities.

The Employment Map also breaks down the digital skills most requested by employers. In the last quarter, JavaScript led the demand with 253 available postings in the community. Following it, Java appeared in 230 postings, and HTML was required in 192 openings.

Overall, the growing emphasis on AI, cybersecurity, and data analytics is reshaping hiring patterns, encouraging upskilling and targeted training across universities and vocational programs in Spain and the Valencian Community in particular. The data emphasizes the need for practical experience and certified expertise to meet fast-changing tech needs as companies expand their digital ecosystems and automation capabilities.

Notes on methodology: the analysis compiled postings from the identified portals and applied advanced data-processing techniques to extract counts and regional distribution. The figures reflect quarterly activity and serve as a barometer for demand in the local and national job markets. Attribution: Telefónica Foundation and the Employment Map project series.
