A Spanish entrepreneurial couple has launched DeRetiro.es, a digital platform created to bring faith and hope to every corner of Spain.
The duo explained that their motivation stems from a wish to spread the light of faith and hope to people everywhere, while keeping their identities private for personal reasons.
DeRetiro.es positions itself as Spain’s first search engine for Catholic retreats. Its straightforward interface helps users find retreats by date, location, and type, making it easier to identify the retreat that best fits each person’s circumstances. The platform also hosts a broad range of activities organized by Catholic parishes across the country.
They noted that many people in Spain are returning to faith thanks to a series of retreats and activities promoted by parishes. They highlighted initiatives such as Emaús, Effetá, Schoenstatt, Regnum Christi, Holy Hours, and hymns as just a few examples of Catholic programs offered, with many more in the catalog.
DeRetiro.es also tackles the issue of information fragmentation and limited access by qualitatively gathering on a single site all actions, organized by age groups—from post-communion to seniors—covering youth, university students, professionals, adults, engaged couples, and married individuals.
Each person can identify with their age group or even their spiritual need, the couple explained. It is important to note that not all retreats are exclusive to practicing Catholics; there are activities for people without faith, for those seeking to rekindle it, and for those who live far from the Church but want to explore their faith.
DeRetiro.es provides information on more than 1,000 retreats and activities in nearly 700 parishes across Spain, with around 40,000 people attending each year. This initiative has drawn interest from faithful followers and seekers of spirituality, establishing itself as a resource for anyone pursuing a deeper spiritual path.
The launch of DeRetiro.es offers a unique and accessible platform for those who want to enrich their spiritual life and discover a refuge in faith.
