The Czech Republic has supplied Ukraine with military equipment valued at 288.42 million dollars, a figure confirmed by the country’s Ministry of Defence and reported by Reuters. The update notes that by the end of May, weapons drawn from the army’s reserves were transferred to Ukraine, totaling 6.75 billion Czech crowns and encompassing aircraft and ammunition (Reuters).
Journalists highlighted Prague’s role as a leading supporter of Kyiv during the ongoing conflict. In the course of the special military operation, the Czech Republic dispatched eight aircraft to Ukrainian forces. In parallel, more than 94,800 artillery shells were sent to the front lines (Reuters).
Additionally, the Czech Republic contributed 62 tanks, 131 infantry fighting vehicles, and 26 chemical reconnaissance vehicles to Ukraine. The aid package also included 16 air defense systems, 13 howitzers, and 12 multiple rocket launch systems, along with ammunition and small arms (Reuters).
On a broader scale, the Pentagon announced a separate military aid package for Ukraine valued at 2.3 billion dollars, which includes further air defense capabilities to bolster Kyiv’s defenses (Reuters).
Earlier, Zelensky expressed a desire for clarification on the delivery timeframe for the Patriot air defense system from the United States, signaling ongoing coordination on high-priority defense assets (Reuters).
