The Court of Education and Violence Against Women No. 1 in Torrevieja has ordered that a 42-year-old man be imprisoned for stabbing his partner five times in the middle of a street in Guardamar del Segura last Tuesday.
Guardamar Civil Guard reported to the public on Thursday morning. Torrevieja University Hospital informed Torrevieja courts that a woman was injured by a knife after a suspected attack on public roads by her partner the day before, Tuesday afternoon, in Guardamar del Segura.
The victim, 32 years old and of Colombian origin, was admitted to the Torrevejense hospital with a stab wound to the back of the rib cage near the right lung, along with other minor injuries to her face and various parts of her body.
The alleged perpetrator, also Colombian, was arrested soon after the incident. He sustained injuries when he was struck by a taxi at a roundabout in the Santa Ana industrial area and fled on foot before authorities apprehended him.
The location of the incident lies in an urban area near Guardamar beach.
According to Civil Guard officials, the attack occurred on the street at the entrance of the residence where the woman lived. The event took place around six o clock in the evening on Tuesday, on Cervantes and Jorge Juan streets in Guardamar, close to the beach and a local pharmacy. Blood traces were found on the street and water splashes were observed on the glass of a commercial building, where pharmacy staff and a nearby nurse administered first aid to the woman.
The assailant traveled to Guardamar to discuss the end of the relationship, then carried out the attack with extreme violence using a 16-centimeter knife. The assault ended only after the blade broke.
The Santa Ana industrial area roundabout became the scene of the attacker’s arrest after he was run over by a taxi while fleeing from Civil Guard officers.
Investigators verified that the victim had moved to Guardamar only a week earlier to care for an elderly person in Elche, where both individuals resided previously.
