New announcement: crowds gathered as the post office opened its doors. The public company marked a major milestone on Sunday, May 7, with entrance tests for a sweeping recruitment drive offering 7,757 permanent positions. More than 84,000 people were eligible to take part in the tests, which were conducted simultaneously across 44 examination centers spread throughout 28 provinces and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla. In the Valencian Community, the number of available places reached 809, with 282 allocated to the Alicante province, 103 to Castellón, and 424 to Valencia.

In Alicante, the exams took place in Lecture Room II at the University of Alicante’s San Vicente del Raspeig campus, where 3,628 applicants registered to take the tests.

Hosting these tests required a large-scale effort. Roughly 3,000 Correos employees worked throughout the day to ensure the selection process ran smoothly. The company underscored the substantial logistical and organizational challenge posed by the sheer number of participants and the spread across many venues. Exam locations were assigned according to the candidates’ stated preferences during registration.

This punctual schedule is crucial, as entry to exam sites is not permitted outside the designated time windows.

Candidates were required to bring a blue or black pen and official identification. Acceptable documents included DNI, NIE, NIUE, passport, driver’s license, or Correos ID card. During the exams, devices such as mobile phones, watches, activity trackers, or any other electronic gear had to be kept out of sight and silent.

The tests focused on topics related to Correos’ products, services, and business processes. The selection process will continue with a merit-based phase in which prior experience, qualifications, language abilities, and the necessary training to perform the job effectively will be evaluated.
