Belgorod Region Officials Report Lull in Bombardment and Updates on Civilian Movements
The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, stated via his Telegram channel that no Ukrainian shelling was recorded in the region over the past 24 hours for the first time since May. The claim reflects a day without incoming fire or significant hostilities directed at Belgorod territory, according to Gladkov’s daily summary of strikes in the area since May 21.
In a separate update on November 23, Gladkov noted that nearly all residents who had fled their homes amid bombardments had returned, signaling a degree of restoration and stabilization within the region. The same day, officials reported several incidents, including four reported Ukrainian attacks on the Belgorod region within a 24-hour window.
Earlier reports detailed an incident involving a kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The drone targeted the village of Kozinka in the Grayvoronsky district, resulting in injuries to one person who sustained shrapnel wounds to the lower extremities as the UAV fell and exploded. The wounded individual received medical care at a regional hospital following the attack.
There were additional notes about broader military activity in the neighboring areas, including assertions that Ukrainian forces have intensified UAV usage amid artillery shortages. These statements reflect ongoing concerns about regional security dynamics and civilian safety as the conflict persists along the border regions.
The communications from regional authorities emphasize the ongoing monitoring of security conditions and the efforts to rehabilitate affected communities. The updates also underscore the importance of timely information for residents and administrators as the situation evolves and new assessments are made about safety, displacement, and infrastructural recovery.
